ATUG’s Excellence Awards recognise outstanding achievements
by industry, organisations and individuals in innovation and services
to end users.
ATUG’s National Broadband Awards were established
in 2007 to showcase the innovative and effective ways broadband
is being used all over Australia in a variety of sectors to enhance,
business, health, education, community, security and agriculture
regardless of geographic location.

This year’s ATUG
Awards will be announced at the ATUG Annual Gala Dinner on 12
March, which is held in conjunction with the
ATUG two day Annual Conference also at Australian Technology Park.
This year’s
Annual Conference will feature new Minister for Broadband, Communications
and the Digital Economy the Hon. Senator
Stephen
Conroy and Shadow Minister for Broadband, Communications and
the Digital Economy the Hon. Bruce Billson MP. International
guest speakers Grant Forsyth BT, Dr Taylor Reynolds OECD, Art Price
Axia NetMedia Corporation and Ernie Newman TUANZ will update attendees
on overseas developments bringing with them a vast array
of experiences.

ATUG’s independent
judging panel were impressed this year with the number and quality
of submissions made by industry and
end users. As a result there will be a number of prizes awarded
over the course of the evening.

ATUG will also be awarding
individual Awards for Excellence in the categories of Journalist
of the Year, Excellence in Communications
Management, ATUG Chairman’s Award and the prestigious Charles
Todd Medal during the evening.
