Broadband Awards 2010

Broadband Awards 2010, presented by ATUG
Australians working towards becoming ‘world leaders in the effective use of broadband'

The Broadband Awards reflects the vision of Minister Conroy that Australia will be a leader in the effective use of broadband.

The Awards are designed to raise awareness of the benefits of broadband by focusing on the successful applications of broadband in categories such as
Business, Government, Community, Sales/Marketing, Agriculture, Education and Health sectors.

ATUG has seen countless great Broadband case studies on our travels around Australia during the ATUG Regional Broadband Roadshows in the last 3 years. ATUG is building on the success of the Regional Broadband Roadshow by creating a National Award scheme to recognise the benefits of broadband through the Broadband Awards.

Award nominees will be asked to provide a non-technical case study via the ATUG website:

  • What was the process before Broadband?
  • Describe the effective use of broadband
  • Describe the outcomes/benefits achieved by the use of broadband
  • Describe any lessons learned about the implementation process
  • Who is the ISP/Service Provider/Application Developer and describe how their expertise has contributed to the effective use of broadband?
  • What is your vision for broadband in your organisation over the next 5 years?
  • How can the communications industry help you achieve your vision?

Award Process
An award ProForma for nominations and submissions will be on the ATUG website.

This information will be collected by ATUG and presented to the judging panel in February for judging.

The judging panel will consist of ATUG Branch Convenors, an ATUG Head Office representative and industry representatives.

The judging panel will shortlist a small number of award winners according to the Award criteria, which will reflect examples of effective use:

  • To improve productivity/efficiency
  • To create or extend a market for goods and services
  • To enable/enhance innovation
  • To improve customer/client service
  • To create/expand community outcomes

The Broadband Awards will be presented at ATUG’s 2010 Gala Awards Networking Evening. This event is attended by well over 300 communications end users and industry leaders.
