How to receive podcasts
Podcasts are a great
source of receiving information and broadcasts. By subscribing to a podcast,
you receive every new upload for that podcast directly to your iTunes ready to
go. Here are a few simple steps to getting started.
1. If you don't have a version of iTunes, you will need to download one. You
can do this for free by visiting the Apple site here.
2. Make sure you have selected
the correct format of the program - either the PC or Macintosh version. The
default
download on the page is for PC. There is a link on the left side of
the screen toward the bottom for a Macintosh download.
3. Once you have selected the correct format click "Download iTunes Free"
4. A dialog box will open automatically and will show the progress
of your download. Once the download has finish, click the "Open".
This will open the installation process for iTunes. Follow the steps that
the Setup
Wizard takes you through. Make sure to check where the program will be kept
once the installation is finished in case you wish to modify your installation
or remove it completely.
Now for the "Podcast" side of things
1. Find a podcast you wish to listen to.
2. Click "Subscribe to Podcast." (Note: most podcasts will have an XML option
or an iTunes option. Click the iTunes option.)
3. The podcast should automatically download to your Podcast list in iTunes.
It will load and buffer and then will be ready for listening!
